Brodhead to notify city bars of smoking and vaping ordinance; letters to be hand-delivered

The council amended the motion to have Police Chief Raupp prepare and hand-deliver the ordinance notices to the four establishments, after which citations would be applied if violations continued. The motion passed unanimously.
Chief Raupp noted the state statute defines smoking as lighting or holding a burning tobacco product, while the city ordinance includes vapor; the chief said he would prepare the letters specifying the city ordinance language.
