Weyauwega — Library representative Frank Zaboj told the Common Council on April 16 that contractor‑initiated change orders for the library renovation have continued to add unanticipated costs, including “another $5,000 for the electrical work that was not looked at in the beginning of the project.”
Zaboj said the Fire Marshal informed the library that a change order will be needed to install a sidewalk from the new library addition’s emergency exit and that he will meet with the Fire Department to review other state inspection corrections that must be made to the existing building. He said gutters should be installed soon and the library hopes to take occupancy of the new room in the near future.
The council heard the update during citizen appearances but did not take separate council action on the library item at the meeting. Zaboj indicated next steps will include coordination with the Fire Department and contractor on corrections and associated change orders.
