Estill administrator: town will press hauler on missed pickups, issue boil-water advisories and install flow meter

At a June 18 public hearing, Town Administrator Joshua "Shane" Richardson updated the Town of Estill Council on refuse-service complaints and water-system operations and described steps staff will take to improve communications with residents.
Richardson said the town has received complaints that hauler S & S Disposal left garbage cans in the road or failed to collect trash, and he said the town will contact the company. "We can give them a call," Richardson said. He also said the town will make sure there is a boil-water advisory when the water is shut off.
On water-system operations, Richardson said the town is working with Sustainability Partners on meters and will meet with Canfor to install a flow meter. He described plans to expand public alerts through the phone system and to publish information in newspapers, post offices, churches and grocery stores to reach residents.
Earlier in the meeting the council voted 5-0 to approve an amended public hearing agenda that added Ordinance 05-2025 (Water & Wastewater Fees) and Ordinance 06-2025 (New Refuse Rates & Fees). There were no public comments, and after the presentations the council voted 5-0 to adjourn at 6:00 p.m.
