Auburn Redevelopment Commission approves routine invoices, extends facade grant for Classic City Creamery and reimburses Saving Grace

Among the payments approved by voice vote were Baker Tilly invoices of $6,095.85 and $9,455.34 for prior presentations, a $226,129 payment to Stress Creek Group for decorative light poles for the State Road 8 beautification, and a $118,237.65 invoice to Pulver Asphalt Paving for the reconstruction of the 8th Street parking lot. Commissioners noted the parking lot project completed under budget.
The commission also approved a $6,460 invoice for a sidewalk linking the new parking lot to the Veterans Memorial, and a $150 invoice to Leitner Law Firm for services earlier in the month.
On facade grants, Auburn Main Street representative Anne Pincham requested a six-month extension for Classic City Creamery after the business suffered HVAC/freezer failures that delayed exterior work. Commissioners debated the accounting and purchase-order timing and amended the extension so that the project must be presented for approval by the December meeting and completed by Nov. 30, 2026; the amended motion passed by voice vote.
Saving Grace submitted a reimbursement request of $13,422.56 for completed facade work. Auburn Main Street staff reviewed receipts and grant-eligible items, noting some documents were missing but sufficient proof existed to approve the reimbursement. The commission approved the $13,422.56 payment by motion and voice vote.
Chair closed the meeting after announcing upcoming redevelopment association events and confirming the Commission’s next meeting on Aug. 4 at noon.
