The Richmond City Council voted July 22 to accept the highest sealed bid for city-owned property at 204 Kice Street and authorized the City Administrator to proceed with a Collector's Deed once payment is received. The sealed-bid auction opened July 7 and closed July 17; three bids were submitted and the highest was $12,000.
Councilor June Paige moved to approve the highest bid; Councilor Bob Bond seconded. The roll call recorded AYES from Paige, Bond, Rodney Williams, Rob Brash, Deanna Guy and Barb Hardwick; the motion passed 6-0. Meeting minutes state that, upon receipt of payment, the agreement between the city and the bidder will be brought back to council for approval of the Collector's Deed.
The bid tabulation was previously authorized to go to sealed-bid by a June 24 council action. The minutes do not identify the winning bidder by name in this record; staff were directed to execute deed paperwork after payment is received.
Next steps: City Administrator Tonya Willim is authorized to enter into the Collector's Deed with the highest bidder upon confirmed payment and will present the deed to council for formal approval.
