First Responder Triathlon set for July 25; organizer seeks county support

An organizer of the First Responder Triathlon asked Worth County supervisors for continued support for the July 25 event, saying this year could set a registration record.
The organizer (S5) said the event will start at 9 a.m., is in its sixth year and expects to limit registrations to about 100 participants because of space near the pool and parking area. He noted unique registrations from out of state, including New York and Texas, and said the event brings athletes and families into local businesses on Friday and Saturday.
Supervisors agreed to provide logistical support — signage, a pre‑race sweep of roads and coordination with the sheriff’s office and conservation staff — and asked to receive an updated course map prior to the event.
The organizer thanked the board and volunteers for past support and said he appreciated continued county assistance.
