The Town of Henrietta Zoning Board of Appeals approved multiple routine area variances on July 1, clearing homeowners to replace porches and steps, widen driveways and replace fences, and approving a second wall sign request for Goodwill Finger Lakes.
Approvals included: a front porch and roof replacement at 24 Rain Drive (ZBA2026040), a 3-foot driveway side setback at 28 Yellowstone Drive (ZBA2026041), a reduced shed size permit at 23 Canelford Heights (ZBA2026042) with conditions limiting the maximum to 10×14, a 1-foot garage width variance tied to new construction (ZBA2026045), a like-for-like fence replacement at 35 Kathy Drive (ZBA2026058), and the Goodwill Finger Lakes sign package permitting a second wall sign with standard lighting and donor-direction signage (ZBA2026048). Board members repeatedly noted these applications generally preserved neighborhood character when compared with nearby properties and complied with public-notice requirements.
Most motions were introduced by committee members and approved by voice vote after brief questions; the board recorded a handful of no votes on more substantial commercial requests but otherwise approved routine residential relief.
What’s next: Permit applicants who received approval were informed they must submit building-permit applications and any additional materials required by the building department before construction may begin.
