Franklin Borough Board approves resignations, hires and staff pay adjustments ahead of 2025–26 school year

The Board accepted the resignations of Megan Fazzio (Preschool Master Teacher, last day Sept. 29, 2025), Angela Maione (part-time paraprofessional, last day July 14, 2025) and Mary Pacenka (part-time paraprofessional, last day June 30, 2025). The board also amended a previously approved .5 FTE confidential secretary appointment for Tracey Babler effective about Sept. 4, 2025 at a prorated annual salary of $27,727.50.
On personnel appointments, the Board approved several hires pending required paperwork: Sara Blondina as a long-term substitute special education teacher (on or about Aug. 26, 2025, $170 per day, benefit-eligible), Elizabeth Gannon and Kristina Garnett as special education teachers (start Aug. 26, 2025; salaries by step disclosed in minutes), Alexandria Lefkovits as a middle school math teacher (start Aug. 26, 2025) and multiple part-time paraprofessionals to begin on or about Aug. 27, 2025 at $19.62 per hour.
The Board authorized additional summer hours for specific staff (Chelsea Smith up to 40 hours at $48.80/hr; Sandy Molla-Saracco, Child Study Team, up to 40 hours at $71.73/hr) and granted the Superintendent authority to approve supplemental pay as needed for the 2025–26 school year. The Board also approved orientation stipends: $45/hr for New Student Orientation (three hours each for listed staff) and $32.29/hr for New Staff/Substitute Orientation (up to three hours).
The minutes acknowledge the death of Employee #7808 on July 7, 2025 and record that, per the collective bargaining agreement, the district will pay $16,170 for unused sick leave on that employee’s behalf.
The personnel slate, presented by Personnel Committee Chair Stephanie Perna, passed as presented; new hires remain contingent on receipt of required documentation and any proration or benefit rules referenced in the minutes.
