Weyauwega council approves land conveyance to Lennon Holdings, OKs permits for fire department dance

The Weyauwega Common Council approved Resolution #663 on Aug. 14, 2024, authorizing the conveyance of empty lots on Mill Street to Lennon Holdings LLC and granted event permits for a fire department fundraising dance scheduled Aug. 17.

Attorney Kalny presented Resolution #663, telling the council that two offers to purchase the parcels had been accepted on Feb. 20, 2024, and that Lennon Holdings would be closing on the 108 E. Ann Street property “very soon.” Councilmember Shani Appleby moved to adopt the resolution; Chris Gunderson seconded and the motion "carried with all 'ayes.'"

The council then approved a street-use permit for the Weyauwega Area Fire Department dance and a temporary Class B retailer license permitting on-site alcoholic beverage sales at the event. Both motions were made by Appleby and carried with unanimous affirmative votes (recorded as "all 'ayes'").

The special meeting, called to order by Mayor Rich Luedke at 6:59 p.m., immediately followed the Public Works Committee meeting and concluded at 7:02 p.m. Clerk Rebecca Loehrke recorded attendance: Mayor Luedke and councilmembers Meta Berg, Pat Gorchals, Austin Baehnman, Shani Appleby and Chris Gunderson were present; Cameron Looker was absent. Treasurer Trina Herbst-Gutche, Police Chief Brandon Leschke and Tim Litscher were also listed as present.

Next steps noted in the record: the conveyance authorized by Resolution #663 will proceed toward closing (the transcript records that Lennon Holdings will close on 108 E. Ann Street soon). The council did not record additional conditions or amendments to these approvals during the session.
