The Franklin Lakes Board of Education on June 17 approved a Comprehensive Equity Plan covering the 2025–26 through 2027–28 school years and advanced several policy items to first reading.
Resolution No. 1739 adopts the district’s Comprehensive Equity Plan for 2025–26, 2026–27 and 2027–28 following the Superintendent’s recommendation. The board also approved a professional development contract with The Reading League for the 2025–26 year at a cost of $18,000 and approved existing curriculum and textbooks for the coming school year.
In policy business the board held first readings on a revised Policy 5516 (Use of Electronic Communication Devices), the related Regulation 5516, and a new Policy 1511 concerning BOE website accessibility (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA). As first readings, these policies were presented for review and will return for a subsequent adoption vote if scheduled.
