At its June 17 meeting the Franklin Lakes Board of Education approved several personnel actions, including the appointment of Maura Camasta as Assistant Principal for the 2025–26 school year at an annual salary of $130,000 and multiple teacher hires and summer staffing lists.
Resolution No. 1761 appoints Maura Camasta as Assistant Principal, contingent on execution of the board’s employment contract and a 60‑day termination clause. The resolution and Resolution No. 1770 (appointment of Philip DiMichele as a Franklin Avenue Middle School social studies teacher at a salary of $76,423) were recorded separately and passed 6–2, with Ms. Carolina Severino and Mr. Scott Loia voting no. Other hires approved on the consent agenda include Daniela Colella as an elementary teacher at Woodside Avenue School and numerous summer ESY staff and teachers with specified days, hours and stipend or hourly rates for the July 1–29, 2025 program.
The board also accepted retirements effective June 30, 2025 (Jeffrey Vroom, Tom Vranesich) and approved separation and leave arrangements for other employees. Summer ESY approvals list detailed staffing (paraeducators, teachers, substitutes) and hourly rates or stipend caps; total ESY program cost was not summarized in the meeting packet.
Board materials note that the assistant-principal appointment is contingent on contract execution; the personnel votes and ESY staffing were included in the consent agenda.
