Franklin Lakes board signs off on resignations, leaves, out‑of‑district placements and payroll

The Franklin Lakes Board of Education on May 13 accepted a series of personnel and student‑service items. The board approved resignations effective June 30, 2025 for Kira Manniello, Dana Scherer, Merissa Bockhorn, Olivia Splendore and Heather Lamer and approved the appointment of substitute Lianna Isakhanian.
Resolutions also approved an extended unpaid child‑rearing leave for Allison Weir for the 2025–26 school year (Sept. 1, 2025–June 30, 2026) and multiple stipend and extra‑hours payments for staff who chaperoned concerts and school events. The board retroactively approved a paid intermittent leave for employee #7751 from May 7, 2025 through June 24, 2025.
The board approved out‑of‑district placements and ESY placements, including Student #1537 to CTC Academy with tuition of $90,037.83 plus an ESY amount of $11,316.23 (total $101,354.06). Several placements at N.A. Bleshman Regional Day School were approved with tuition and extraordinary aid figures listed in the minutes.
Financial approvals in the consent agenda included the check register for May 2025 totaling $490,438.81, approval of actual payroll for April 2025 (gross wages $2,097,756.71) and an estimated payroll for May 2025 ($2,200,000).
Mr. Maceri reported two student suspensions in the suspension report. The board announced the next meeting on May 20, 2025.
