Menomonie City Council approves truck purchase, grant application and multiple routine motions

The City Council of the City of Menomonie met June 15, 2026, and approved a series of routine items and motions during a roughly 33-minute session that ended at 7:33 p.m.
The council unanimously approved the Water Utility’s purchase of a 2026 Ford F-150 from Northtown Ford for $42,795. The motion was made by Schlough and seconded by Erdman and carried on a roll-call vote of the nine members present.
Council also approved a request from the Fire Department to apply for the FY2025 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG). The council noted the program requires a local match of $38,000; Hargrove moved the motion, Luther seconded and the vote was unanimous.
Members adopted Resolution 2026-18 regarding the Sewer Utility 2025 Compliance Maintenance Annual Report. The resolution was introduced and approved without dissent.
The council approved an intrafund transfer within the Sewer Utility, and voted to pay the presented claims in the amounts listed to vendors including EO Johnson, Synergy Cooperative and Wipfli, totaling $14,237.77. Parking utility claims totaling $4,509.92 were also approved.
The council approved multiple special event permits and temporary licenses, including an Art Market on 2nd Street East (June 25–27, 2026), and the Menomonie Jr. Mustangs Softball Mustang Stampede (June 19–21, 2026). A timeline of local events and administrative reminders was provided by Mayor Crowe and Public Works staff.
All motions recorded in the minutes show unanimous approval by the nine members present (Luther, Edwards, Yonko, Pickard, Schwebs, Hargrove, Schlough, Erdman and Sommerfeld); Gentz and Sutherland were absent.
