Oscoda Township board approves IT upgrades and three large infrastructure pay applications

Supervisor Nicole Tregear and the seven-member board approved a 60-month lease with Image Business Solutions for multifunction printers at a monthly cost of $997.84 (first payment $1,097.84 including a $100 lease documentation fee) and a Windows 11 upgrade and hardware-replacement budget not to exceed $20,000. The board also approved purchase of a Microsoft SQL Server license for $10,669.07, implementation of Single Sign-On for $1,272 and replacement of a 24-port switch with a 48-port non-POE switch for $3,287. Each motion was moved and supported by board members as recorded in the minutes and passed by unanimous roll call.
The meeting also cleared three large pay applications tied to township water and sewer projects under 2024 state revolving fund contracts: Schaaf & Associates Pay Application No. 6 for $197,304.62; Elmer's Crane & Dozer Pay Application No. 5 for $498,378.04; and RCL Construction Pay Application No. 4 for $760,334.67, the latter approved "when funds are available," as noted in the motion. The board recorded unanimous roll-call approval of each payment motion.
Why it matters: the IT approvals update core township infrastructure and the pay applications release significant funds to contractors working on long-running water and sewer projects. The RCL Construction payment was explicitly conditioned on available funds, an important budgetary caveat noted during the vote.
