The Rolla City Council on Jan. 20 held a public hearing and first reading on an ordinance to rezone property on the 800 block of Lanning Lane from R-1 (suburban residential) to C-1 (neighborhood commercial).
Mayor Pro-Tempore Kevin Greven opened the hearing at 6:34 p.m. Community Development Director Dawn Bell explained the project and said a medium-density designation would benefit the east portion of the property. Kelsey Saviano spoke to the council about plans for a new dance studio at the site. With no further public comment, Mayor Pro-Tempore Greven closed the hearing, and City Counselor James Klahr read the ordinance for its first reading.
The minutes record only the public hearing and first reading; no final council vote on the rezoning was taken at the Jan. 20 meeting.
