Dr. Reese Wright introduced Tatiana Garcia as the districtnew director of fiscal services and asked Tim Golden to welcome her to the podium. "We are really fortunate to find Miss Garcia," Wright said, summarizing her prior experience in Santa Ana Unified and other Orange County roles.
Garcia thanked the board and superintendent for the opportunity and introduced family members in the audience. "I am completely blessed to have been given such an opportunity to work here at Los Alamitos," she said, expressing appreciation for the warm welcome and for Tim Goldenwho mentored her career.
The meeting also served as a send-off for Elvia Schnur, the districtbusiness services director who announced her retirement after 31 years in public education and 11 years in Los Alamitos. Superintendent Pulver and multiple trustees lauded Schnurs leadership across payroll, facilities, maintenance, transportation, IT, food services, extended care and risk management, and cited her role in bond oversight and construction projects. "She has been a consummate leader... who goes above and beyond," Pulver said.
Trustee Davidson told Schnur the board had relied on her financial guidance: "Every single time that I had to make that decision, I would look at you and that trust in my heart knowing that we wouldn't be voting on it if you hadn't done so much work." Trustee Partizani and others echoed gratitude and wished Schnur well in retirement.
