Davis said the district receives roughly $3.5 million in supplemental LCFF fundsabout 3% of the districtoperating budgetbased on an unduplicated pupil percentage of about 17.55%. "The purpose of the LCAP is to address the eight state priorities with our actions and services," she said, summarizing the plan around three overarching goals: exemplary teaching and learning; exemplary student outcomes; and exemplary connections.
Davis walked trustees through goal-specific actions and measurable outcomes, noting goal 1 focuses on professional development and standards-aligned curriculum, goal 2 centers on data-heavy student outcomes and metric-driven benchmarks (e.g., MAP growth, CAST results, A–G completion and reclassification rates for English learners), and goal 3 covers engagement, mental health and attendance supports. She pointed out that because this LCAP represents the final year of the three-year cycle, much of the content carries forward and that next year20272829will be a revamp of the plan.
President Hill opened the required public hearing on the LCAP. "Are there any comments?" she asked; seeing none, the board closed the hearing. Davis confirmed the LCAP will be posted on the district website once the board approves the plan and the board will consider final adoption in its June 23 meeting, in alignment with the districtbudget adoption timeline.
Why it matters: The LCAP documents how Los Alamitos USD intends to target supplemental funds to improve instruction, student outcomes, and engagement and is a required component of state accountability reporting.
