During the personnel portion of the agenda, a board member reviewed personnel items including appointments, changes of assignment (one dated 08/05/2025), acceptance of resignations, approval of 2026–2027 Act 93 administrator salaries, elimination of positions, hiring of summer custodial and maintenance help, extended school year staffing and authorization to make employment offers.
The chair called for a motion to approve Personnel Resolution 1. The motion was moved by Miss Turner and seconded by Mr. Christiansen; a roll‑call vote followed and the motion passed 8–0.
After the vote, the board introduced Mrs. Habershock (introduced earlier by Dr. Patterson) as the new director of finance. Habershock spoke to the board and community: 'I'm very honored and privileged to be part of the Bet [sic] Park community and serve as the director of finance,' she said, adding personal remarks about family ties to the area and a commitment to collaborate with staff and community members during a transition period. The board thanked outgoing staff members, including Mrs. Burford and Mrs. Kopi, and noted Burford will remain for part of the transition.
Separately, the finance committee chair listed 14 finance items on the committee agenda and suggested holding item 9 (approval of the general fund budget) out for separate consideration. A board member asked whether the board should provide a public explanation of a periodic property tax reassessment resolution (resolution 7); logistics about a microphone were noted.
The board moved multiple items to the consent agenda (items 2–6 and 8–10); item 7 was held out to appear separately next week. The meeting recorded no public comments on agenda items.
