Ravena Village outlines three-day 250th celebration with parade, vendors, shuttle service and fireworks

Board members detailed a three-day 250th celebration that will include an adults-only evening at Mosier Park, a Saturday parade and a Sunday of family activities in the Hollow.

A committee member (S1) described Friday night, July 10 as an adults’ event at Mosier Park featuring a DJ (Billy Hardy), alcohol service in a designated area, and food from vendors including Roy’s Caribbean. Saturday will feature a parade stepping off from Mosier Park at noon and traveling down to the landing and Peter Bay, where a fife-and-drum corps will open the festival. The program will include historical demonstrations (blacksmith, wool spinner, wood carver), reenactors firing cannons during the day, vendor booths and family activities such as bounce houses and a trampoline Euro-bungee for older kids.

The board said the event will include shuttle service with two buses looping between parking at Peter Bay and the landing from midafternoon through the post-fireworks period to ease parking constraints. The committee noted it has added funds for a longer fireworks display over the river and emphasized tent/electric needs for the DJ and vendors; they plan to secure pop-up canopies and verify electrical capacity at the basketball court.

A board member also congratulated the Ravenna Host Company for winning first place in its division at a recent regional firemen’s association parade in Lake George.

Board members said they will publish more detailed schedules as the event approaches and will finalize logistics at upcoming workshops.
