Clerk Amanda Bernal reported to the LaSalle County Taxes, Elections & GIS Committee that two candidates were slated for two county board seats after the primary and that anyone wishing to file as a write‑in candidate must submit a declaration in the clerk's office by Sept. 3.
Bernal said the list of election judges required by statute (10 ILCS 5/13-2) will be sent to the full board in July and asked the committee to hold a short meeting before the full-board session so the committee can approve the election-judge resolution for submission. She said refund checks had been printed, ethics referrals (15 names) had been sent to the state's attorney for nonfiling, and that the clerk is continuing routine election and records work.
The committee agreed to schedule a brief pre-board meeting so the resolution can go forward.
