The Quincy City Licensing Board approved one‑day liquor licenses for the Wollaston Hill Neighborhood Association's 'Saturdays in the Park' event series in September. Chair (Speaker 2) introduced the request and Robert LaRocca (Speaker 4) described the event as a seven‑year tradition with local bands, lawn games and family activities.
LaRocca said the series runs from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26 and that organizers typically plan a rain date the following Sunday to give bands flexibility. "It's been a great success," LaRocca said, noting local bands provide opening and headline acts and families attend with children.
Board member (Speaker 1) moved to approve the one‑day liquor licenses with potential following‑day rain dates; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The board confirmed that on‑site alcohol service would be confined to the licensed time window and that organizers would coordinate details as needed.
The board moved on after the vote; organizers will be responsible for vendor compliance and public‑safety measures required by licensing rules.
