The Quincy City Licensing Board approved one‑day liquor licenses for the Friends of Ruth Gordon amphitheater to host the "Friends Fridays" concert series this summer. Kellogg said the lineup includes Wolfpack with Ryan Peter Murphy, Divas with a Twist on July 10, Blue Fish on July 17, Cherry Orchard with an Irish opening act, one‑act plays on July 31 and Aug. 1, a movie and open‑mic night on Aug. 7, a New Orleans jazz band on Aug. 14, a remembrance night Aug. 21 and Studio 2 closing on Aug. 28. "We have a great schedule," Kellogg said, adding that food vendors will include Black's Creek Barbecue, Smiles by the Miles ice cream and Georgie's Creek.
Board member (Speaker 1) moved to approve the request as presented, listing the event times and a rain‑date reserved for Sunday, Aug. 30; Chair called the question and recorded two affirmative votes, after which the board approved the licenses. The board confirmed that licensed alcohol service will be provided by the contracted vendor (Break Rock) and that organizers will distribute event information via social media and the Friends of RGA website.
The board's approval authorizes one‑day liquor service at the amphitheater on the stated dates and the reserved rain date; organizers and the contracted vendor remain responsible for compliance with state and local licensing rules. The board moved on to the next agenda item.
