The ordinance (2026-4) amends operational rules to prohibit overnight vending, requires food vendors to leave by sunset, and sets a process for vendors to obtain approval to operate on village property or during community events. The board and staff said the ordinance preserves the ability for service-club events, block parties and permitted private events to host vendors, provided organizers obtain administrator approval and that vendors comply with health-code and sales-tax obligations.
Trustees asked whether food trucks could operate on residential streets during private block parties; staff said vendors cannot vend from the travel lane and should use driveways or yards and secure administrator permission. The village attorney will review sales-tax collection and other compliance steps where necessary.
After discussion the board voted on a roll call to adopt ordinance 2026-4. The ordinance passed with unanimous aye votes recorded by roll call.
