Mayor Lee reported at the Aug. 15 meeting that Mitchell Page of Timmonsville plans to reopen a pharmacy in Lake View. Lee also said Trading Post owner Khusali told town officials that receipts (other than gas) turned in to Town Hall or local schools will generate an additional 2 percent donation to the town on top of the existing 2 percent hospitality tax, for as long as Khusali owns the store.
Mayor Lee and Chief Temple presented Assistant Chief Smith with a life-saving certificate in recognition of his off-duty CPR response; Lee thanked local first responders and volunteers — including Kenny King, Toney McDuffie, Officer Spivey and Darrell Dawkins — for their work during Storm Debby.
No formal council action was recorded for these items beyond the public announcements and the presentation of the certificate.
