Staff member (speaker 3) told the Committee of the Whole the annual explosives and blasting permit for Payne & Dolan’s quarry is complete and in compliance with the village ordinance, though one blaster’s license is due to expire in August.
The staff presentation said the company had provided “all the necessary documentation to comply with the ordinance,” and recommended approval and referral to the village board. Committee member (speaker 4) moved to approve and forward the permit; Committee member (speaker 5) seconded and the committee carried the motion by voice vote to move the item to the village board.
The motion as taken at the committee was a referral rather than final approval. Staff noted the expiring blaster license will need to be renewed and provided before any final permit action by the village board.
The item will be considered at an upcoming village board meeting for final determination.
