The proclamation praised the unit’s professionalism, training and volunteer service and noted the honor guard’s role in memorial services, commemorative events and civic ceremonies. A representative of the police department, speaking on behalf of Chief Juan Penijos, thanked the commission and singled out Sergeant Figueroa for her leadership of the small unit.
"They did an outstanding job," the police representative said, adding that the unit is called upon for funerals, swearing‑in ceremonies and other formal duties. Sergeant Figueroa accepted the recognition and said she would pass the message along to unit members.
The recognition was ceremonial; no operational directives, budget actions or policy changes were recorded during the conference.
