Jackson County approves CDBG compliance package linked to $2.5 million grant; one element tabled

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners approved a set of compliance documents tied to a $2.5 million Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) intended for neighborhood revitalization and senior housing infrastructure.
Planning Director Bryce Post told the board the grant funds will support infrastructure work (including a Western Road housing project and a senior housing project). Post said the county plans to use its existing uniform guidance procurement policy, adopt an ADA/Section 504 grievance procedure, include Section 3 local-jobs provisions under the Housing and Redevelopment Act of 1968, and implement a language access plan to provide interpretation services through the health department.
Post identified an item in the Fair Housing tasks that reflected an older entry and requested the board's permission to amend that subsection (labeled 4d). Commissioners agreed to approve the compliance package while tabling 4d until the amendment is presented at a subsequent meeting.
Outcome: the board approved the CDBG compliance plan with 4d tabled for revision and later approval. County staff said they will return with the corrected language and the full set of compliance documents once updated.
