Engineers to brief council on well-improvement report at May 20 special meeting; budget hearings also set for May 20

The Early City Council learned that a 70-page engineers' report on well improvements was submitted to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources on April 30, 2024, and asked that Bolton & Menk engineers attend a May 20 special meeting to discuss findings and next steps.
City Clerk Lexi Wallace told the council that the clerk and the public works director held an electronic meeting with Bolton & Menk to review the report and outstanding questions. Councilors agreed it would be helpful to have the engineers present at the May 20 special meeting to provide detail and allow councilors to make community decisions based on the engineering recommendations.
Separately, the council unanimously set May 20, 2025, as the public hearing date for adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025–2026 budget and also set May 20 for a hearing to consider a FY2024–2025 budget amendment. Both hearings were established by 5-0 show-of-hands votes.
