Reyes says congestion-pricing commitment secured ADA elevator at busy Parkchester subway station

Reyes recounted visiting a senior center after the elevator opened: a woman arrived with an elderly father who is wheelchair-bound and, after Reyes announced the elevator, "we took the train ... we went to Trader Joe's, and we came back." She said the improvement "was life changing" for residents who previously had to climb multiple flights of stairs.
Reyes framed the upgrade as restoring access for seniors and others who rely on elevators and ramps for mobility; the interview did not include statements from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority or other city agencies about the project schedule or funding details.
