Staff said the combined city-plus-county pool totaled $164,898.69 and the county’s portion of that pool was $64,058.74; request amounts submitted by applicants were about $700,000 in total so the awards did not fully satisfy requests.
"None of the recipients received the full amount requested," staff said, explaining the committee ranked applications and recommended funding where it could have the greatest impact. A commissioner moved to approve the committee’s recommendation; another commissioner seconded the motion and the board recorded three ayes for the motion.
The staff member noted that city partners will also have to approve their portion of the awards separately.
Next steps: the recommended awards will be finalized following any necessary city approvals and the county will process awards according to the committee’s ranking.
