The La Porte Board of Public Works and Safety approved routine payroll and claims at its morning meeting.
Clerk Treasurer presented June 5 payroll totaling $569,934.26 and reported civil city claims of $840,358.89, water claims of $327,161.12 and sewage claims of $245,306.84. Board members moved, seconded and approved each item by voice vote.
During discussion of civil claims a board member asked about the timing of credit-card reconciliations for April and May. The Clerk Treasurer explained that credit-card charges are cleared through a credit-card clearing account and that April and May were reconciled in close succession once statements were available.
The items were taken as part of the consent agenda and approved without recorded roll call tallies.
