Red Bank commissioners approve two FY2026 budget amendment ordinances

The Board of Commissioners of the City of Red Bank unanimously approved two budget amendment ordinances at its June meeting, the body said during second‑and‑final‑reading votes.

Ordinance No. 26‑13‑09 amends the FY2026 operating budget to appropriate $516,364 for the general fund, $110,000 for the solid waste fund and $200,000 for state street aid. Mayor Stephanie Dalton opened the item and asked for a motion; the measure passed after a roll‑call vote in which each participating commissioner voted yes.

A separate ordinance, No. 26‑13‑10, also passed on second and final reading. That ordinance appropriates $270,300 for the general fund, $75,000 for state street aid and $27,600 for the solid waste fund.

Both measures were presented as amendments to close out and reallocate unbudgeted expenditures and grant funding in FY2026, and both were moved and seconded on the floor before the recorded votes. No residents spoke in opposition during the vote on either ordinance.

The approvals were taken after the commission completed its consent agenda and routine reports from the mayor, commissioners and city manager. Commissioners framed the measures as housekeeping actions to align appropriations with recently available grant funds and operational needs.

With the votes concluded, the ordinances will be incorporated into the city's FY2026 budget as approved. The commission did not identify additional appropriations related to these ordinances during the meeting; any further budget changes will appear on a future agenda.
