The Oshkosh Common Council voted to approve Resolution 26-238 authorizing the sale of city-owned Aviation Industrial Park land to Valere Hangars at Oshkosh LLC during its June 16 meeting.
Council members said the sale aligns with the aviation district’s goals and praised the partnership with county and economic-development partners. A council member asked whether any TIF (tax increment financing) districts covered the property; city staff confirmed the parcel lies inside an existing TIF district that currently extends through 2032 and said the $900,000 purchase proceeds would be allocated to that TID. Staff also noted the buyer has submitted a plan for the county portion of the property and that the offer contains standard due-diligence contingencies.
Several councilors expressed enthusiasm for the project near the airport and said it could spur aviation-related businesses. The council asked staff to coordinate a press release and promotional materials. The sale was pulled from the consent agenda for separate consideration and then approved on roll call (5–0 recorded).
