Deputy Chief Young said the station would initially operate by appointment and varying presence, with the goal of developing regular staffing over time and eventually providing full‑time presence if budgets allow. Council suggested signage showing open/closed hours, partnerships with community service and youth groups for cosmetic work and exploring use by CSAs (community service aides) to expand availability. Council moved the item to the legislative agenda for a formal vote and encouraged staff to return with an operational plan and a proposed staffing/timetable.
