Council committee advances PennDOT reimbursement amendment for Paxton Parkway project

City Engineer Joel Sanders said the project is already under construction and workers discovered deficient pipes beneath the trail that required replacement. Sanders said PennDOT agreed to pay the full cost and that the resolution simply modifies the existing reimbursement agreement so the additional funds can be accepted and reimbursed under the PennDOT award.
Council members asked for a brief timeline; Sanders said the restoration is underway and is slated for completion within a few months. With no substantive objections, the committee chair moved to add Resolution 52 to the next legislative agenda.
The council will formally consider the amendment at its next legislative meeting; staff said they will present the final reimbursement‑agreement language when the item is placed on the agenda.
