Dyer pins two probationary firefighters after year of training

Fire Chief Joe Martin said the two candidates had completed probationary requirements and training and highlighted the department’s investment in developing personnel over time. "They earn it," Chief Martin said, praising the recruits’ commitment and the department’s ongoing training programs.
One of the new firefighters thanked the town, colleagues and family for their support, saying the opportunity was "life changing" and expressing gratitude to mentors and fellow staff.
Chief Martin invited attendees to a post-ceremony gathering at the firehouse for photos and continued recognition. The pinning was part of the meeting’s new-business items and was presented as a ceremonial, non-action item; no formal board vote was required for the recognition.
The meeting record also included a letter of commendation read into the record for personnel who assisted at a residential structure fire the previous night; Corporal Sanders and Medic Febreze were singled out for their assistance and teamwork.
