The RSU 10 board voted on June 17 to call a special meeting for 6 p.m. on June 24, 2026, to consider proposed withdrawal agreements from the towns of Buckfield, Hartford and Sumner.
Board members and administration said the special meeting is intended to complete the withdrawal agreement language and authorize an individual to sign and submit the agreement to the state before the end‑of‑June deadline that determines when towns may place withdrawal questions on the ballot. Administrators described continuing attorney work on the language and a need to finalize details about the interim year budgeting and logistics if the towns later vote to withdraw.
The board emphasized that the special meeting will allow staff and attorneys to answer questions about the proposed agreement, and that the state must still approve any withdrawal plan after the board’s action.
The motion to call the special meeting passed by voice vote.
