Anthony Cristello urged the Lower Paxton Township Board of Supervisors on June 16 to review how the board manages public comment and whether the current chair should remain in that role.
"This is not good government," Cristello told the board during the public‑comment period, saying a long‑time resident was singled out at a recent meeting and later escorted to his vehicle because a group of residents had congregated outside. "The township needs leadership that lowers the temperature, not raises it, and it needs leadership that protects public participation."
Cristello thanked Supervisor Lindsay for acknowledging the board's mishandling of that earlier meeting and for apologizing. He asked the board to "review the leadership and meeting management failures" and consider changes to restore public confidence.
Board members responded during the meeting's public comment period but did not move to take formal disciplinary action against the chair. Chair Campbell continued the agenda business after public comment, and supervisors did not place the matter on that night's agenda for a vote.
The exchange underscored tensions between residents and the board over how speakers are treated at meetings. Cristello framed his request as an appeal for professional meeting management rather than a personal grievance. The meeting proceeded to other agenda items, including park dedications and contract awards, and adjourned without the board scheduling a follow‑up vote on leadership or the chair's role.
