Resident raises concern that Cheatham County website omitted Pegram election; recorder reports county notification requested

During public comment at the Feb. 5 meeting, Susie Coleman of 4502 Scenic View Drive told the board that Pegram residents did not receive a town text message about the upcoming August election for two alderman positions and that the Cheatham County election website did not list the Pegram election. Town Recorder Tina Morehead told the board she has brought the omission to the attention of the Cheatham County Election Commission for correction.
Mayor Charles Morehead responded that issuing election reminders has not been past town practice and noted the comment for future consideration. The minutes record the recorder’s follow-up with the county but do not show any formal policy change or directive to begin sending text reminders.
The board did not take formal action on the matter during the meeting; the recorder’s contact with the county Election Commission was recorded as follow-up.
