Engineer Luke Sullivan told the board that, according to the contractor Eubanks Paving, paving was scheduled to begin March 1, 2026. Board members said they want the work to be underway by mid-March and discussed rebidding the project if the contractor fails to meet that target. No formal motion to re-bid was made; the item remained a discussion point with the board taking no further action.
Vice Mayor Bob Sanders initiated the discussion and Alderman Miranda Montgomery seconded discussing the deadline; neither absent members Randy Howington nor Michael Paszek participated in the discussion. The board’s comments established the March 15 target as the town’s contingency date for evaluating whether to pursue a rebid.
The discussion followed the engineer’s update and did not include a vote or changes to contract documents during the meeting. If the town moves to re-bid the project, the board would return with a formal motion and any contract decisions at a future meeting.
