Hostiller described her project goals—creating a sustainable music library, adding music‑related books and posters connecting music and mental health, and providing a place for students to unwind and improve musical skills. She said she coordinated with her band teacher (Ms. Ron), surveyed band and choir students for selections, fundraised at Lambeau Field and solicited donations. Hostiller announced a $250 donation to the Winneconne High School library to buy mental‑health‑and‑music titles and said she will work with Dana Jarabick to select materials and continue cataloging additions.
Board members praised the project and noted that extracurricular activities like theater and music provide opportunities the state report card does not measure. Hostiller said she would place the music cart in the band room the same evening and will submit her Gold Award final report to the Girl Scouts in hopes of formal recognition in May.
What’s next: Hostiller will finish cataloging the collection and complete the Girl Scouts’ final paperwork; the district will accept the donation and coordinate placement and future purchases.
