He told the board the itinerary would include multiple running days and a community 5K or fun run and that logistical plans call for a round‑trip flight to Denver and a rented van while in state.
The coach estimated the cost per student at between $900 and $1,000 and said the program has undertaken fundraising to reduce out‑of‑pocket expenses. Nine students had indicated they definitely wanted to go and three chaperones were planned. A parent and a district staff member volunteered to serve as chaperones.
Board members asked logistical questions (vehicle arrangements, number of participants). The board later approved the trip during action items (voice vote recorded, all in favor, 7‑0).
