Staff said building-code provisions already limit residential use of storage and that some subjective standards (such as aesthetic-impact language) would be removed for clarity.
Board members had no public comment on this item and moved and seconded the recommendation; the vote was recorded by roll call in favor of forwarding the amendment to City Council for consideration. The item will go through the council process, with first reading and additional review noted by staff.
Next steps: the recommendation will be transmitted to City Council for first reading; staff will coordinate the administrative process for intakes and certificates of occupancy if the ordinance is adopted.
