The Physician Assistant Committee granted a license to Mister Rollins after reviewing his reentry-to-practice plan and supervision arrangements.
Rollins told the committee that since moving to Arkansas in 2021 he worked as a clinical research coordinator and did not prescribe medications in that role. "We were simply just...drawing blood, collecting data for patients," he said, adding he refrained from making treatment recommendations and directed patients back to their providers.
For reentry to clinical practice, Rollins described a retraining plan that includes daily shadowing with inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology providers, supervised EPIC training and a phased ramp-up of duties. He estimated an initial shadowing period of about two months with additional months to follow: "I would say...at least, 2 months...but probably add on additional, 2 months as well in order to ramp up all my clinical duties."
The committee asked about supervision and backup supervising physicians; Rollins said locum gastroenterologists currently provide coverage and that he would submit updated delegated agreements identifying backup supervisors once those names were available. Members moved to approve the license with the expectation of updates from the supervising physician, and the motion carried.
The transcript records members vocalizing assent and issuance of the license; the committee asked Rollins to provide confirmations in writing when supervisory details are finalized.
