Board meeting opens with community invitations: class auction, Empty Bowls dinner

Nanette Familson, who identified herself as the junior-class adviser at Mesolonsky High School, invited board members and community members to a Project Grad class auction and taco dinner slated for Saturday, March 21 with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. She said tickets would be available at the door and offered to share flyers.
Sherry Mather, from Oakland and teaching at the high school, invited the community to the Empty Bowls Clubcommunity soup dinner on the 27th, a long-running event where attendees receive a student-made bowl. Multiple school principals and staff then highlighted upcoming school events and initiatives, including March Madness reading brackets, author visits and family engagement nights.
