Board moves to approve tentative agreements covering roughly 355 support staff

The board on June 16 voted to approve two tentative collective bargaining agreements with district support-staff groups.
Brad Paddock, assistant superintendent for HR and talent development, introduced the two 2-year successor agreements for the Educational Support Professionals (ESP) and Farmington Maintenance & Cafeteria (FMC) units, both of which expire June 30 before the successor term begins. Paddock said the groups together represent approximately 355 employees (about 30% of the district workforce), and that the district negotiated in good faith over roughly 10 weeks with multiple sessions; the district offered on-scale wage increases, step advancements and language cleanups.
Board members thanked HR staff for in-person briefings and questions taken before the meeting. Trustees then moved separately to approve the ESP and FMC tentative agreements; both motions were seconded and passed by roll call.
District staff said the agreements will return as executed contracts and that implementation steps will follow in Human Resources.
