The Anson County Board of Commissioners approved a $186,800 contract with SKA Consulting on June 16 for restoration work on the courthouse (Courtroom No. 2, post office side). The contract was advertised, received three bids and the apparent low bidder was Stone Restoration. The chair confirmed the contract amount and the 55-day completion timeframe; staff said the work will likely be scheduled after a pending murder trial in the summer and noted the funds were appropriated in a prior budget and carried forward to the current fiscal year.
The motion to approve the contract was made and seconded from the dais and passed by the board. Staff agreed to present any scheduling constraints and coordinate the contractor’s start date with court schedules.
