Council approves first reading to convey vacated alley to Dennis and Shirley Ogborn

At its June 16 meeting the North Platte City Council took first reading of Ordinance No. 4253 to convey a vacated alley located between Lot 32 Hastings Addition and Lot 1, Jurgensen Subdivision to Dennis and Shirley Ogborn.
Judy Clark, city staff, told the council the alley is narrow and abuts property owned by the housing authority. Clark said the housing authority was contacted about acquiring its typical half-share but declined because grant funding prevented taking title to the small strip. The ordinance authorizes the conveyance and requires the buyer to consolidate the parcel with his existing property if the sale proceeds.
Council called the question and Item 3 passed on first reading. The ordinance will return for subsequent readings as required by city code.
