The Town of Thompson Planning Board reviewed updates to the Walmart OPD expansion on Anawana Lake Road on May 27 and approved a modification to the previously approved site plan along with a waiver of the current 20-foot parking-stall length to match the site's existing 18-foot stalls.
Project engineer Justin Lattierre said revisions included additional landscaping, signage updates and a light pole. The County 239 review suggested the applicant consider adding solar; Board members encouraged the applicant to contact NYSEG early because service upgrades can take time.
Consulting engineer Matt Sickler and consulting planner Kevin Schwenzfeier reported their comments had been addressed. After discussion the Board voted a negative declaration under SEQR and then approved the site plan modification and the waiver for 18-foot parking stalls.
The approval was recorded as unanimous in the meeting minutes; the Board directed the applicant to coordinate with the Town Water & Sewer Superintendent if the water line is Town-owned and to proceed with any required utility outreach.
