Public hearing on Prestige Bungalow Colony stays open pending County 239 review

The Town of Thompson Planning Board kept the public hearing for the Prestige Estate Bungalow Colony open on May 27 after the project team presented a revised site plan and answered questions about water and sewer connections.
Ken Ellsworth, the project engineer, said the project is in its second public hearing because additional parcels were acquired and the design changed. Consulting engineer Matt Sickler told the Board the applicant has petitioned the Town Board for a sewer extension and for expansion of the water district; a new well on a nearby project is being tested but this project will take Town water via extended lines on Cold Spring Road and extend sewer down Ripple Road to discharge to the Village.
Consulting planner Kevin Schwenzfeier raised concerns about steep slopes on the property and potential calculation errors. Consulting attorney Steve Vegliante reported the County 239 review returned as incomplete and recommended the hearing remain open until the County completes that review. After a short public comment period that included a question from resident Ben Richards about water sources, the Board voted to keep the hearing open until the County 239 review is complete.
The Board did not set a new date for closing the hearing; staff and the applicant will return with updated plans and the outstanding 239 materials.
